Royal Caribbean is owned by Apollo Investment, a huge international octopus based in New York. The guy in charge is one Leon Black, on the board of Trustees of Dartmouth College, among other things. The passengers on Royal Caribbean are 90 percent American and the ship will operate from American ports.
